Our Classes

All classes generally run 4 weeks consecutively (weather/holiday permitting). Each 4-class session costs $125. Everything (instruction, tool use, clay, and glazing) is included to complete 4-8 pieces. No other fees are associated with classes.

Intro to Pottery

This class is designed to give you a taste of both aspects of pottery, the wheel and hand building. Sometimes, it is difficult to choose what best suites your needs and desires. This class briefly touches on both methods so you can better decide where to focus.

All pieces from children under 16 or those not wishing to continue at the studio will be glazed by the instructor and will be available 2-3 weeks later.

**Bonus available for those students that wish to continue: Sign up for a future class and get a free private glazing lesson (approx. 1- 2 hrs & only available once & to new students taking a second class).   A free 1 day pass into the studio is available to anyone with experience in glazing or who had a previous private glazing lesson.

Beginner Wheel

This is an intensive course that will demonstrate & teach the basic core skills needed to: Wedge, center, throw & trim, to create cylinders & bowls. Course includes one free entrance back in the studio for glazing.

Beginner Wheel II

This class continues to build on the skills developed in Beginner Wheel class. Introducing the possibility of throwing with larger amounts of clay to create larger pieces including plates & platters. Pre requisite: Beg wheel or equivalent experience. Course includes one free entrance back in the studio for glazing.

Intermediate Wheel

Focus of these classes; Continuing to build skills and introducing more difficult tasks such as, galleries and flange, double walls, clay manipulation, closed vessels and anywhere else the class would like to visit. Course includes one free entrance back in the studio for glazing. Pre requisite: Beg wheel II or equivalent experience.

Advanced Wheel

This class is mostly self-guided with minimal help and instruction. Usually, very specific advanced techniques are used to achieve specific goals. Course includes one free entrance back in the studio for glazing. Pre requisite: Intermediate or equivalent experience.

Hand Build

This course introduces the skills needed to do pinch pots, coil builds, slab builds, and using molds. We also introduce using texture, underglaze painting & transfers to decorate the vessels. Course includes one free entrance back in the studio for glazing.

Hand Build II

This class allows students to continue to develop initial skills and choose their own projects to complete. This can also include skills to create very large pieces. This is based on each individual’s skill set and experience. Course includes one free entrance back in the studio for glazing. Pre requisite: Hand Build experience.
